The trip began with a welcome dinner hosted by Sarawak’s Tourism Minister, Dato Sri Abdul Karim, who expressed interest in visiting Bhutan to strengthen ties. Key activities included visits to Fairy Cave Nature Reserve (highlighting community conservation) and meetings with Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC), where strategies like prioritizing nature lovers for ecotourism and international projects (e.g., Reef Ball) were discussed. The group explored Kuching Wetlands National Park (a RAMSAR site) and Semenggoh Wildlife Centre, observing orangutans. A dinner with Deputy Governor Dato Hi Chang Kee reinforced commitments to responsible tourism.
